After 18 months, his repair failed. He chose to not stand by his work, and told me I could either repair it myself or pay him to come back and re-repair his shoddy workmanship. He then made some very odd comments about me being from the east coast and therefore cheap. Firstly, I'm from California, although I've lived in a few places in my life, secondly...what kind of childish defense is that? You did a repair, it failed, and somehow that is my fault? Grow up.
