The Home Depot

I miss the days of us old guys being able to get in, get what we need and get out. Sadly HD caters to folks who have no idea of what a left handed Phillips head screw driver is. FYI there is no such thing. So it is. You can still find what you need but you have to negotiate all the people walking around like a teenage boy visiting a nudest colony for the first time. You also will have to spend way too much time sorting out what is and what is not where it is supposed to be. Things like PVC fittings are the one that really annoys me. But, HD appears to not want to hire anyone and a lot of the ones they hire are as lazy as a hound in July. I would say the vast majority of the employees are great and very busy if you know the 90/10 rule then you get it. I still go and still spend way too much

I do like Home Depot as a whole, this particular store, I do not. This is the first time I have tried the order online for pickup option. Several of the items I picked up were wrong and I had to go into the store, wait in line at customer service to then go back and get the proper items, which is what I was hoping to avoid by ordering online. The aisles are PACKED with displays making it nearly impossible to navigate with a cart of long items. The parking lot was worse as the spaces are extremely tight for anything bigger than a compact car, and there is no real loading area for contractors picking up large orders. If you're pulling a trailer, forget about it.

This visit was quick and we found what we needed for a drainage project in the yard. We needed bags of drainage rock and they were reasonably priced and easy to find. We noticed the great selection of wall blocks which gave us the idea of bordering the rocks with wall blocks. We also got paint samples to finish the design project for inside the house. We will be back soon because of the ease of finding what we needed.

Very observant and helpful staff. There was one guy stocking indoor plants listening and singing along to loud music but I don’t blame him 😂 they had everything I needed. Leaving this review specifically because an older lady in gardening, wearing a sun hat, helped me out to my car with my cart and loaded everything for me. Pushing a stroller with a sleeping baby and having a cart full of large items was very difficult but this associate stepped up and didn’t even ask if I needed help—she just helped.

We have had good experiences with Home Depot, including installation services. This review is concerning a GE washer we purchased. GE only has a 1 year warranty and when our machine was having issues after year 2, they basically said there are no options to help us. This was disappointing so we will consider moving away from GE when we make our next appliance purchase.
