Valley Chimney Sweep

I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. The technician who came to my home caused damage to multiple components of my wood stove and chimney system and did not disclose it. Instead, the damage appears to have been covered up using self-tapping screws, and the flue pipe was reinstalled improperly and poorly fitted to the chimney. This was only discovered when I returned home and inspected the work myself. As a result, my wood stove was left completely inoperable. In addition to the workmanship issues, the technician behaved unprofessionally. After learning that my wife works from home part of the time, he attempted to get his wife hired by her. When she politely declined, he proceeded to speak down to her about her industry, making her very uncomfortable. I raised both

My experience with the technician they sent out was so uncomfortable that I had considered calling the company while he was in my home. That technician should not be in a client-facing position. I did not have time to inspect his work before leaving for an appointment but my husband did later that night and saw the technician had installed the flue pipe incorrectly and attempted to cover up the damage, rendering the wood stove un-usable. My husband contacted the owner attempting to get a resolution and even offered to pay for the cost of materials, but wanted the damage corrected. The owner quoted over $800 for both labor and materials for the replacement of components destroyed by his technician and offered zero remorse or resolution. Avoid and seek services elsewhere.

Chris came out to our place, arrived on time, was knowledgeable and patient with our questions, diagnosed our issues, and even replaced one of our dampers. If you're looking for quality service that's friendly and affordable, these guys are it.

Called for service on my Englander Pellet Stove. It's working fine I just wanted it checked over as a new homeowner for peace of mind. Gentleman on the phone told me they usually charge $150, I accepted and asked to be put on the schedule, he then asked what type of stove, I told him and he said "oh no sorry actually we won't service those" I asked why and was informed "it's because it's a home depot/warehouse type of stove and they have issues sometimes that he doesn't want to deal with" Honestly kind of a weird interaction. Not very helpful at all, turned away business, I thought that's what these kinds of places were for was servicing stoves for people, but I guess only the easy stuff is what they work on.

Great experience with Valley Chimney Sweep. The technician called ahead to let me know he could be onsite a bit earlier than planned which was great. He completed a thorough inspection, cleaned the fireplace and was very professional.
