Varsity Parking Garage

This is hands-down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a public parking garage tied to an apartment complex. I would give it 0/5 if possible. More than 2 days after a snowstorm, the entrance/exit to the garage remains completely uncleared, despite the rest of DC in the foggy bottom area being fully passable and other public parking garages completely accessible. Because of their total inaction, my vehicle is physically stuck in the garage, costing me additional money every single day—including having to extend a hotel stay and car rental at my own expense. What makes this even worse is the behavior of the staff. The apartment manager was extremely rude, condescending, and confrontational, openly stating they had no plan to remove the snow at all. No timeline. No solution. No account

The use of spothero App was pretty convenient and easy to use. Five stars for that. Some of the parking spots were not full size. We had a minivan and we struggled to park it in the small spaces. Me and other passengers had to get out the car and we folded our side mirrors and we still didn’t have enough spaces.We tried three spots. Luckily one person parked in a good sized spot moved out and we were able to park in his spot. For the price, I do expect to be able to park comfortably. We struggled for half an hour. If you drive a small sedan, you’ll be fine but if you have an SUV or minivan, look elsewhere. Otherwise you’ll struggle unless you get lucky like we did.

Exactly what I needed for my trip to the ARC Hotel for two nights. I reserved it through SpotHero on my Android, and got a QR code to check in. You drive down a declined alleyway and make a 90-degree right-turn, where you scan your QR code on the left-hand side. Then the door opens, and you are to proceed to the lowest level in the garage, where the spots aren't reserved for local residents. You can't use the elevator or stairs, you DO have to walk all the way back to the opening door to exit. But for $26 for two days, to securely keep my car in a secure garage for 48 hours was a pretty good deal if you ask me. I parked a Volvo XC60 here. I would absolutely park here again.

Picked this one up via Spothero. Hidden location down a ramp that looks like a dead-end, but the address is correct. Really dirty and smelly but great location and price. Park close to the entrance, because you have to walk back up the way you drove in - no stairs or elevator.

Have to use an app that requires selecting a time in advance then assigns you a spot, so you can't use it if you've already parked. Also just generally poorly designed and dirty and sinister
