Very similar experience to Marc. Asked for help with a project and got a pretty rude response about how they won't work on any material that isn't theirs, and that was it. I went around the area looking for another shop that might help me and although none of the others had the necessary tools to help, they were all very nice and helpful. Most even suggested other shops that might have the right tools. Ultimately, they're rude and woodworkers I've told about my experience have said they're absurdly expensive anyway, and to go somewhere else. I won't be considering this place for any of my future woodworking projects.

I love Sherman and Sons. The old school feel of the place, is one of the major things that I like. Location is a plus too. They have an extensive wood choice and can custom mill trim. Yes, they're pricey. Yeah, they can have a bit of an attitude. But where else are ya gonna go? That kind of place should be on an endangered species list, they're getting scarce. Speaking for myself, I don't mind paying a little more for quality.

I called to ask for assistance with creating a new door jamb for an antique door we would like to buy and instead of saying - this is not a service we do - they responded "not interested". Extremely unprofessional. A shame because we might have called for other projects had they just been a little more kind.

Pleasure dealing with these people. They are alway helpful and knowledgable.
