We chose this hotel for a family getaway and to explore the area with our kids. The location was easy to find, and we used valet, which made arrival simple and stressfree. Unfortunately, our experience with the room itself was disappointing. We specifically booked a Premier River View Balcony room that was advertised as having two queen beds to accommodate our family. Upon arrival, it was clear the beds were full-size, not queens. The front desk later confirmed that Premier rooms only have full beds and do not offer queens in that category. Had this been clearly stated online, we would not have booked this room. The bed size made our stay uncomfortable, and accurate room descriptions are important when traveling with children. This is our favorite hotel in DC and we wish there were more Watergate Hotels in other places. The staff is helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond. We take our bikes and ride all over DC. It's close enough for a decent ride. We actually walked back from the white house one night in February once. I dont recommend that but it is doable. The spa. This is top notch. We love the steamrooms and hot tub. The pool is the perfect temperature at all times. We spend hours there. When we book hotels, we look for good spas and this one is the best around and included with the room price. We stay at the Watergate whenever we go to town for music from DE and it is the perfect getaway.

The hotel is good, but be prepared extra for what you didn’t use, as well as parking with Valya costs $60, while you can get there for $16! Although they said only Valya’s service, you can’t do it yourself! It was a scam. And so if you are ready to pay a lot more besides what you paid during the booking, the hotel is good and clean, but there are hidden fees

Suddenly encountered the Watergate Complex in my first trip to D.C., and I only realized it was done by Luigi Moretti after searching online. Except for the scandals, this Complex left me with a mature operation of artificial topography - interesting enough for a first-time visit but doubtful for a longtime resident. However, I appreciate the openness it gives to the outsiders and the modest welcoming gestures in details such as the entrance canopy, slight set-back from the city, etc. The Watergate Complex might be the most commercial among the projects by Luigi Moretti, a man who easily attracted all sorts of Tycoons - political tycoon like Mussolini, property tycoons such as SGI (Società Generale Immobiliare).
