White's Ace Hardware at Carmel

I am a bona fide live human being writing this review of White's Ace Hardware. The store has a nice, easily accessible parking area. There's parking right by the building. Automatic doors appeared easily accessible to wheelchairs, walkers and mobility carts. Aisles are wide and well organized, easy to maneuver. There are many gardening items, a group of small batch preserves and jellys, wild bird food, tools, home repair items, paint, paint brushes, lightbulbs and much more.. There were at least 3 employees available to help to assist if one asks. The congenial young man at the checkout register wished me a cheerful greeting as I left the store. Among the interesting signs on the entry doors were a 'We Are Hiring' sign and a 'Services Offered' sign. 'Sharpening' was one service offered. I

Sales people helpful and friendly. Xmas inventory already picked through. Xmas tree stands were very poor quality. Mine broke and needed to be returned immediately. I purchased box of 4 light candles and one was broken.. didn’t bother to go back second time for another return… ugh!

I have been in this store a few times in the last couple weeks. What I always thought was a very friendly and knowledgeable store has failed me the last 2 times. One of the guys that works there acts like he hates his job and I am a bother to be asking questions and trying to find what I am looking for. We just purchased a Blackstone grill and was having trouble finding the serial number so I called the Carmel store to ask for some help. Apparently nobody at your Carmel has a clue where to find the serial number…. After crawling around on our garage floor I finally found it and he couldn’t get off the phone fast enough. Said “bye” and hung up. Not “where did you find it” or “I am so glad you found it”. Nothing. I am not sure what changed but I used to be able to count on your Carmel

The helpful hardware man? Hardly ! They stand around like zombies and did not offer to help my 75 yr old fiancé lift, find, or carry anything! Unfriendly and uncaring to the max. They are dullard zombies with no desire to do anything helpful. My fiancé said he will never go back and drive miles out if the way next time.

A lot of items in one place. Get in a get out quickly. Actually people with knowledge ready and able to help. Huge Hardware selection and not just in bulk. One stop shop for all grilling needs!
