Whitman Route Interpretive Site

If you are interested in the history of the Oregon Trail, this is an important site to visit. Turn off Interstate 84 at the Mount Emily Summit Road and head east. Travel approximately 10 miles, and you will reach USFS Road 3109. Turn left and go approximately another 5 miles on a rough and rutted dirt. With caution, generally a sedan can make it. Drive carefully here. When you reach a distinct parking area with a pit toilet on the right, park, go across the road and find the trail that goes to this overlook.
