Williams Aluminum Railing

Bought the railings through Menards, arrived on time no problem. I'll had it to them has to be one of the easiest railings I've ever done, two hours and they were installed. Where Williams falls apart is customer service or after sales service. We had an issue with two cable ends not gripping the cable. Called Williams and emailed them several times and never got a response. I badgered Menards about this as well and they were going to give me new cables and ends as that how they are packaged. We in the end did'nt need them as the customer thought the posts were to high so we cut them down by 3 inches or one cable rail down. Put up the railing in 2 days on a weekend. I would say I’m only a 5 out of 10 on the handyman scale and it went in great. Make sure you get a good saw blade and follow the directions. We love our new railing!! We also just added a gate and it’s great too!!

Top rail cover will not snap into place. Called customer service and it basically hangs up on you automatically. Very frustrating.

Williams railing system is fantastic. Easy to install. Easy to cut and adjust lengths. Very good looking. Sturdy, nice clean lines. Only suggestion would be for an option for a shorter stair rail section. Love the Post Cap Perimeter Lights as well. Had one light quit working in 6 months. Customer service is wonderful and prompt. They have a 1 year warranty and it was replaced immediately. Highly recommend this company and its products!

I just completed installing my Williams railing system including deck gate yesterday. The finished product looks great. I have two suggestions that would make the product more user friendly. 1) Stair railing lower post installation was impossible because of the angle of the railing to the lower post. The lower clips are a bear to connect. I needed to loosen the lower post and fasten the clips. This should be included in your instructions. 2) The hardware screws in the Key Lock device were very poor quality. After drilling the pilot holes I snapped off the heads of the first 3 screws I attempted to fasten. I needed to go to my local hardware store and buy stainless steel screws that worked without any issues.
