Ackerman Heating & Air Conditioning

We had Ackerman out to install a whole-home bypass humidifier, add a new vent in our basement, and install an Ecobee thermostat. Overall, really happy with how everything turned out. Joe (the owner) actually went out of his way to call the manufacturer to make sure the humidifier setup was right for our house. That meant a lot to me — it showed he cared about doing it correctly, not just getting it done. They explained things clearly, didn’t oversell us, and came back out to double-check everything after install. The basement airflow is better and the system is working as expected. Hard to find contractors who are responsive and detail-oriented — I’d definitely recommend them.

We contacted Joe to address the lack of adequate heat in our basement Family Room. His fairly priced proposal gave us four options to choose from and he thoroughly explained the pros and cons of each one. The installation went as scheduled. We are more than happy with the unit and the quality of the installation. Joe is extremely detailed oriented and double checked installation details with us before mounting and drilling through walls. It was a pleasure to work with such a conscientious and thorough contractor. We will definitely be calling Joe for all our future HVAC needs.

Fabulous all the way around! My A/C was not functioning correctly, and Joe Ackerman is my go-to person so I called right away. Sarah was kind and helpful and was able to schedule me for the next morning! Joe and his helper arrived early in the service window and Joe immediately began diagnosing the problem. He figured out the inside issue and addressed, and the outside issues as well. He found additional areas needing repair and took the time to address every single thing, and helped me understand the problem, and the solution, every step of the way. He even changed my air filter! Joe is a great guy and good mechanic! As owner and installer he does quality work. I am a retired electrician so I know what I’m talking about. I had Joe estimate and install a new heating and cooling system and he and his helper did a great job !The installation took place in July while the new outdoor unit was purring quietly with my new efficient variable speed fan motor but I wanted to wait until it kicked on these last few chilly mornings to get a sense of the heating side of the equipment. So far I’m impressed with the GOODMAN equipment performance. Hopefully when the temperature drops in the twenties the heat package will take it easy on me 😜! I would definitely recommend Joe if you’re looking for a decent guy who will give you an honest price and follow through with a professional
