We live in a Mies van der Rohe-designed building in a unit that needed remodeling consistent with the modernist design of the building. Smith House did a beautiful and meticulous job as general contractor for the remodeling. This included complete remodeling of the two bathrooms; refinishing the kitchen; adding drop ceilings in the bathrooms and kitchen with drop lights; new track lighting elsewhere; installing two multiple-panel shoji doors; installing new floors throughout the unit; painting the entire unit; and doing a number of small but needed repairs. We were not in town when the repairs were done, but Smithhouse kept us informed through weekly teleconferences and daily updates posted on-line.
