AMRIZE Alpena Cement Plant

Just seen outside of building, I remember when it was Huron Portland Cement Company as shown on original building from 1917. Many of my Friends parents worked here at that time. Then it was bought by Lafarge company in late 70s and now it's owned br Holcim

This place is pretty slow from what I seen during my visit. I'm a OTR flatbed driver and had a delivery here and it went just as reviews posted. With one truck in front of me it took about 3 hours but the guard was transparent that it would be a while to finish delivery. From how it's put they have alot incoming and sometimes they have to make room for new product. Be patient and they will eventually get to you.

They are ok because they employ many people, but at the same time they are destroying the air quality in Alpena they could do more, filtering I mean, what is coming out of those stakes? Don't even get me started on the little creek with the white bottom that disappears onto their property that smells really bad, nothing lives in it and it has a white bottom, what is that? Is it environmentally friendly? Clean it up Lafarge!

I don’t know how this place got so many 5 stars. I’m here for 2 hours now untarped, unstrapped but it’s taking this long to get me unloaded. There are 5 trucks behind me waiting.
