BOTTOM-LINE: Element Plumbing is absolutely outstanding--and, in particular, their technician Roy Barnard. STORY: Our hybrid solar/propane in-floor heating and domestic hot water system, installed when we built our house in 2007, never functioned well. We had hassles with it for years and when one of the original on-demand boilers went out just after Thanksgiving, we had an urgent situation: no heating and no hot water. I left VM's with 6 or so plumbing outfits before finally reaching Element (none of the others ever even returned my call). Element came out within an hour and the work began. I won't recount all the details, but high-level they removed our overly complicated and ramshackle original system, including a huge stainless steel water tank, and re-did the entire in-floor/domesti

I called to have an outdoor freezeless faucet replaced in my yard. I had the hole opened up and the technician had only a couple of shovelfulls of dirt to expose the fitting in order to replace a new faucet. He did a great job with the work, but my billing was for just short $1100.When I asked for an itemized statement, I was told they don't have that, "we bill by flat rate. In fairness I signed the estimate ahead of time, thinking I would receive a billing based on parts and time. As it turns out, my $1100, was for $250 parts and maybe three hours labor. Be aware of their "flat rate!

0/5. Technician visited while I was away and charged my wife $962 for less than 1 hr of labor and less than $100 in parts. I am happy to properly compensate skilled professionals for their expertise and knowledge but that is just plain and simple grift. See image below for $1000 worth of work. Andrew should be ashamed of himself for charging this amount. Update: Element reached out and after hearing my concerns they offered a partial refund of $216, bringing the total invoice price down to about $745. Total labor: less than 1 hr. Total Parts: less than $100 retail. That puts the hourly rate at about $645 for my simple job.
