Ernie Kreis & Sons Heating Inc

At the beginning of September 2025, I tested my furnace, which was installed by Ernie R. Kreis Heating, in late December of 2024. It worked until the end of the season, but did not work at all when I tested it this year. I called Ernie, but he didn’t show up on the scheduled day. He had a reasonable sounding excuse and rescheduled. When he failed to come on that date, he finally answered my call with another serious-sounding excuse. So, we rescheduled again - no show again. I called and texted him for days, leaving messages, and got nothing. This debacle is nearing 4 weeks now. He left a couple of 80-year olds without heat.

Called Ernie on a good recommendation. Needed our couple years old furnace to be checked out because the heat wasn't circulating. Made an assessment (~$XX00-"thermostat controller"), and after about 3 visits, we were up and running (it was initially running to just the lower levels - Main and Split Level, but not the upper floors floors after the initial visit). However, after about a month or two later, same issue. Ernie was polite, cited being busy, and frustrated by workload at other locations (my understanding is that he works heavily with the SNF facilities in the area). After about a week of proposed visits, we settled on a revisit. This was early spring, but still cool enough in NY that we were using space heaters to compensate for the downed heat on three stories of our home -

Fast to respond to a message left on their phone. Set up appointment to have our furnace cleaned. Came on time, did a great job. Thank you!

Ernie arrived on time and was very professional. He worked his magic and got us up and running in no time. Will definitely call again when the need arises. Thank you!

Representative told my elderly mother she needed a new furnace because he could not get a fan for her 1985 furnace. I called another company, after cancelling installation, and the only thing wrong was her thermostat. $140.00 total to fix! I will be calling them today. They lost a lifetime customer. Hopefully this guy loses his job so he can no longer take advantage of the elderly. If I wasn't here she would have purchased a new furnace. What happened to honesty in today's world?
