Kabelin Ace Hardware - Michigan City

So at first my experience wasn't bad. the kid that was behind the rentals was a good guy. As the rental went further, some guy who wasn't even on the clock in a leather jacket im assuming was the manager was negativily running his mouth to his co workers for incompetence. Im on the phone with my plumber my plumber clearly wanted a certian type of rooter but guy wasn't having any bit of it he knew better than my plumber and wouldn't let me switch rooters to the one my plumber had requested. This guy who im assuming was the manager was very unprofessional and argumentative. He needs a different job.

Need to teach your older employees how to talk to people. Just because I am unsure about something doesnt give YOUR employees the right the belittle me as a 34 year old who's been thru chemo and can't remember alot and have to be told "WELL I LEARNED THIS IN 3RD GRADE I CAN'T STAND THIS GENERATION" Seriously, this is unacceptable. This is unprofessional. Never returning

When it comes to hardware stores, any Ace across the Midwest has always been a positive experience for me, this one was no exception. Stopped in looking for some cabinet hardware, and plumbing fittings on my way up to Michigan to make some repairs at the family lake house, and was met with the excellent help and service of Ewan, the store manager. They were patient. Helpful. Knowledgeable. And very polite. I'll be coming by any time I go through the area if I need things on my way up to there to avoid having to detour to KZoo or go up to GR. 5/5 all across the board.

A great hardware stores that has such a variety of goods. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Went by today as I frequently do to access the UPS Store and then picked up a bottle of home pest control. The checkout woman recognized the customer in front of me as a former neighbor. As their conversation kept going, the woman behind me gave up and left. That didn't stop the convo at the register, so I put down my item and left as well. They were still chatting as I walked outside.
