I did NOT have a very good experience with Murphy Builders. On May 21, 2025 I contracted with Murphy Builders to get my roof replaced along with soffit / fascia and gutters. We were told they would start the project in approximately 3-4 weeks. Autumn was very un-professional and struggled to get us color samples with the photo of the house we provided. After not getting timely responses and assuming we were needing to get this handled for the 3-4 week start time, we finally went into the office on M-32 to find out what the problem was. We ended up taking a few color charts and shingles samples home to figure it out ourselves. If I had to rate these people murphy builders I would also give them a zero. It took 2 months to get a estimate, for doing a ice storm job. A ceiling leak. It is now October and still don't know when they will come. They make excuses all the time and can't give a date. I wouldn't sign another contract with them ever !!! When you threaten them they say you won't get your money back because they have a clause in their contract that says you have to use the them for future work and they won't give your money back to you. THIS IS POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE .WHAT A JOKE. Never use these people, their are many other great contractors out their in the Alpena area. I live in Southern Michigan. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. My elderly mother had ice storm damage from the storm this spring. Took almost 2 months to get an estimate. The repairs STILL have not begun as of July 7th. Every time we call, we get nothing but excuses and no start date. Now the estimator is on vacation for a week or so, they don't know a return date for the estimator and no one else can handle her work. I highly recommend NOT even calling these people. How do you treat an elderly woman like this??? ZERO STARS!

Murphy Builders did a messy job on my vinyl siding. They also did not complete the job. The company tried to void our agreement to waive my deductible. I took them to small claims court and won a judgment. They are many good companies to choose from. This company is NOT one of them. Murphy Builders has 2 locations. Beware!

We just finished our 3rd Project with Murphy Builders. 1st did a chimney reconstruction for us, which was very challenging due to the water damage discovered and they did an excellent job. 2nd, Murphy did a set of gutters and originally were going to give us the wrong gutter covers (cheap) but they made it right and provided the proper ones shortly after. 3rd, they just finished a Trex deck for us. Murphy had hired a subcontractor (which they are no longer doing because of this job) and the subcontractor did not have the knowledge to install the deck properly. It was a nightmare, however, Trevor and his team made it right, ordered new materials to repair and to make this story short, they removed the entire Trex deck that was installed by the subcontractor and then replaced the entire deck
