I wish that I could give the City of Rochester negative stars for their corrupt use of parking violation fees as a revenue stream... Examiner refused to acknowledge that the signage was confusing, conflicting and contradictory, and therefore unenforceable (see pic). Blatantly obvious ploy to rack up fees... CROOKS! Follow-up: I appealed the arrogantly dismissive examiner's decision and won my appeal when the State DOT and Federal DOT signage experts backed up my position. How many other people just pay the fine?!?!?! The City is a bunch of CROOKS! Fight for your rights!
This office doesn't care about you or your city. They only care about your money. Also, be careful of fraudulent parking tickets they now mail to your house without warning and legally trying to take your money without due hearing. Challenging enough going downtown with all the crime, but now topped off by a parking bureau that has gone completely rogue, unchecked and condoned by the Mayor's office. As it's often said, you can put lipstick on a pig but still a pig.
This place is horrible due to the overall poor leadership in our city. I received a few parking tickets in the downtown area where I work. I received two tickets for parking at a meter that was not in non-working order and another at a meter where I have proof from the actual app that I had paid for the time I was parked there, yet I still received the ticket. I set up a hearing to fight the tickets but had an emergency at work the day of the hearing. I attempted to call and was unable to reach anyone. I later received correspondence that I had received a judgement. When I went back to reschedule I was notified that I had to pay $50 for each ticket to be considered for another hearing and that the fee is non-fundable. It is terrible to charge a city resident for parking on streets where yo
I think it's a good idea to have a motor vehicle down town as of parking or getting there is great people need to understand can't have everything come to you free make yourself some arrangements ifdont want to play for parking of getting there is all bus still have to pay cab still have to pay so what's the big deal always something when it's trying to be a good idea thing for us all DANG.
Although the wait time was a long, the examiner was very fair and listened to my very confusing case. Parking stinks, had to run out to the meter twice. Security people were very pleasant and helpful.
