Safeway Moving & Storage

Buyer beware when purchasing insurance with this moving company. I have used this moving company on three separate occasions and was satisfied with the first two experiences. My first occasion involved a claim which they resolved to my satisfaction. On the last occasion we had approximately 2/3rds of our household items in storage with them for over a year. When it came time for them to move the items from our temporary housing into our new home they damaged several items during the move and when items were brought into the home from storage the movers noted several items were damaged during the process of storage including many tears on one of the headboards and one of the footboards of two separate beds, in addition to other items. Mike Patton was our driver and this has been our best move yet. We have moved 3 times in the last 4 years during our careers and have experienced some nightmare situations. We expressed this to Mike and he made sure to take care of us. He advocated for our needs, worked extremely hard, and took special care of our items. As expected with any move, we did lose some items and had a couple of broken items. He did his best to mitigate these situations, and no major items were damaged. He brought positive stories and fun when moving can be the opposite. Thank you, Mike! We hope you are able to assist us in the future!

Mike delivered my treadmill by himself. It weighs nearly a thousand pounds and he lifted and placed the treadmill exactly where I wanted without any assistance from me. He communicated with me throughout the delivery process and was insanely helpful. Amazing service. Highly recommend!

We hired Safeway for an interstate move from NKY to MD. We asked for quotes from the top 3. Our rep, Allen, was the most professional and helpful out of the 3 companies we looked at. The quote was competitive so we picked Safeway. Before the move they communicated well. The move went great, delivery was on the 3rd day and the movers/drivers were very professional. It was the biggest move we had ever made and Safeway made it worry free.

Edited to add- No one has reached out to me from the company, let alone spoken to me. I cannot believe how terrible this experience was. Broken and scratched furniture, squished boxes, completely lost items. This company completely took advantage of my elderly father to get more money out of him. I had to carry a mattress down a flight of stairs for him to even have a bed to sleep on. I don't know how these people can sleep at night knowing how terribly they treated my dad. The amount of money he paid to have his stuff basically thrown into a house is beyond ridiculous! Do not recommend and will definitely never use again.
