Sawhorse Designers & Builders

My family has hired Sawhorse for two projects. The first was a fairly straightforward roof over our front steps in the spring of 2020. The second project was a 20x30’ multi-use garage with room above which has just completed as of writing. We had some communication issues with the first project (mostly when things would be delivered/picked up and when sub contractors would be doing work) but blamed them on the beginning of the pandemic and on the uprising happening in MPLS at that time. On our second project we experienced nothing but continual problems and excuses from Sawhorse. From the start (once we signed the contract) communication was poor and spotty. My family hired them for a large addition & remodel. From the start this project was difficult with poor sub-contractors, extensive delays, and they did not care about our project. The architect didn’t really listen to our wishes; he was focused on visual beauty vs practical design. The contractors, and workmanship was shody. Many things had to be done twice (like the carpentry, finishing work, plumbing, the list goes on). Luckily, Sawhorse tried to “make it right” but since their bottom line was reduced it felt like they stopped caring about our project & it was de-prioritized. It wasn’t all bad though, the project manager was good, the company owner is reasonable, and they did do re-work to make sure basic quality standards were met. Thank you Sawhorse! Needed a carpentry fix in my kitchen - and they did the job! Sawhorse is knowledgeable and responsive and they do great work. I have relied upon their expertise on more than one occasion and continue to be a satisfied customer.

They did some work on my neighbors house. But they dumped wet concrete on my driveway and tried to hide it by putting my garbage cans over the mess. When I called them they had a guy call me who denied dumping concrete on my driveway and was rude over the phone. And they dumped concrete on my neighbors lawn and killed the grass. Very rude contractors who do cheap work. And leave a mess for others to clean up.
