Smith Concrete, Poca Plant

BUYER BEWARE - scheduled at 11am, they finally get there at 3.45pm.... after telling me all day they're going to be just a little late, around noon, etc. Had a pump truck waiting on them at 11am. Smith concrete knew this. I repeatedly told them when I ordered the concrete and throughout the day it was scheduked. After 4 hrs pump truck had to charge $100/hr. Long story short, I had to pay extra $250 to pumping company because Smith put me off the schedule to take a larger 30 yard order (mine was only 9 yds). Owner Jeff is threatening a lien on my property because I paid them $100 less as i passed on part of the money they cost me when writing the check. Avoid at all costs! You've been warned.

The truck showed up 45 minutes late. Was quoted 130 a yard but was charged 145. Called the Poca office to talk to someone about the overcharge and the office worker was very rude. I will never use Smith Concrete again. There is many options in the Charleston area, save yourself the hassle and avoid Smith.

I would give these people a “0” if it would let me. Sage advice to the consumer: NEVER do business with these people. They will tell you they are going to deliver between 10-11 and then don’t show up. My husband called to see where they were at 11:30. “Don” told him they were on their way. At 12:30, still no concrete. With me sitting right beside him, my husband again called asking where the concrete was at. “Don” told him it had just gotten loaded and would be on its way. 1:30, still no concrete. So I called them at 1:30 and asked “Don” where the concrete was. I identified myself and told him my husband had talked to him earlier. He STRAIGHT UP LIED and said he hadn’t talked to my husband at all today!!!! Then he proceeded to tell yet another lie (this made the 4th lie) and sai

I have been very happy with this company, and it's services, for years now. I think anyone around should strongly consider using Smith Concrete for any Concrete or Pumping services they need

Delivery was late, driver complained about road on one delivery and on my last l dealing with them they canceled 10 minutes before scheduled delivery and I had a crew waiting at my house which I had to pay to sit around and do nothing do to these no shows. Terrible outfit.
