SmithCo Oil Service

SmithCo did our service in June. The technician mention we had a small pinhole leak in our tank that he patched. He never mentioned a single word about this causing a delivery hold on our house. Now, in the middle of a blizzard, SmithCo tells us their “insurance” will not allow them to deliver oil to heat our home. We’ve paid them a service contract for years. I never saw ANY oil leaking out of the tank and the service tech applied a patch without even showing me. This sounds like a scam to make service cash. We will never use this company again. We’ll be switching to all electric instead.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Called and tried to get in contact to get oil delivery because our house was on empty, and we were not receiving any answers after being told we had “20 minutes to submit a form or we aren’t getting a delivery” at 12:43pm. We needed to know if we needed to switch services to another company. Service desk lady answered and yelled at us for calling multiple times because we needed answers and she wasn’t giving us any or picking up the phone. Then proceeded to hang up on me as I was talking and said “not my problem”. So ridiculously rude will never use this company again.

Prepaid a $300 annual plan in December 2024 which included "services through October 2025". I cancelled on January 2nd 2025 so I wouldn't forget to cancel before the renewal plus I no longer wanted automatic oil delivery. Never needed any services for 9 months but tried to schedule a tune-up (that is included in the annual plan) and was told they don't provide ANY services once a plan is cancelled and will not refund either. So they took $300 for a prepaid plan that was cancelled less than a week later.

Technician came on Christmas Day in a timely manner and quickly plugged the leak in our tank. HUGE help to our family at an inconvenient time. Very professional.

Terrible customer service & almost double the competitors rate… Was on contract for scheduled delivery for 5+ years, yet ran out of oil on a cold winter night. The attitude & disrespect shown by the woman who answers the phone’s was downright absurd. Take your business elsewhere
