Southern Cross

Like many, this company doesn't answer their phones and sends employees onto people's properties with no warning. The employee who came into my backyard (while I was home and could have easily let him in), left my gate unlatched. I have dogs that could have been outside, I could have let out and they could have gotten out. This is just so irresponsible and unsafe.

This employee on 02/06/23 parked overnight in one of only 2 handicapped spaces at the Homewood Suites in Carle Place NY . A disabled American vet had to park on the other side of the lot and had to take the wheelchair out , then pull in and park , then it will have to be done again because regular parking spaces do not have the room on the side to access the chair . Wish I could have had a few words with him.

Made no attempt to contact me before wondering around my home. I had to go out and confront him to find out who and why a stranger was walking around my house. Up and down my stairs and under the deck. This is a huge safety risk for the employee as well as myself. All he had to do was knock or send a notice out ahead of time.

Repeatedly threatening me with fines for not giving them access to my meter. I am only a tenant and have no access to the meter. Have told them this 10+ times. Have given them the appropriate contacts for access but they still harass me and threaten me with fines. I’ve spent hours and hours of my life trying to sort it out. Please, Southern Cross, if you see this I am begging you at this point- Please do the right thing. Please.

They left a note on my door once claiming they had been here 3 times. They never called to say they were coming, apparently they just randomly show up and leave a note saying they will cut off gas service. The note had places to mark a first and second time but they never did it. Of course no one is going to be home to let you in the fence if you don't say when you are coming. Then I made an appointment and they don't bother to show up or call. I have to call them to find out they decided not to come because it is raining. They want to inspect a gas meter, you can look at it in the rain. This is the worst company. I'd give it 0 stars but that wasn't possible.
