Spink Insulation

After a kitchen remodel on our ~1950s home, we found ice forming on the tops of some of our recessed lighting cans in the attic during winter, meaning we did not have good insulation and air flow in our attic. We had both Home Depot and Spink come out and quote us on adding insulation and fixing air flow problems (installing baffles, clearing insulation from soffit vents). Both quotes were almost dead-on pricewise (within $10), but Spink's quote included more insulation, getting us to minimum R50 in our attic, whereas HD was less. Additionally, Spink was able to schedule the job within a week, whereas HD was booking 2+ weeks out. Finally, Spink also offered to do and submit the paperwork for DTE rebates, which is a nice bonus. I had em come in twice with very specific problems (air coming in through a crack, cold floor in one specific spot). Both times they charged me 1k and left without the problem fixed. So it took 2k to for them to actually listen to me when I told them what the cause was for the first problem. And my second problem was not resolved. I liked the people I talked to at spink and the workers were great and super professional but I’d probably recommend going elsewhere if you have similar asks as I did.

Very knowledgeable and honest! Joe from Spink came out to our condo to give me a bid for some sound-proofing work. After assessing the area and our needs, Joe told me that it would be less expensive and more effective to do the work ourselves with rockwall (no skill required + more effective than cellulose). I am very impressed that he informed me about this alternative, when he could have easily just given me a bid for cellulose sound-proofing, which is what he originally came out for. Spink came highly recommended by a friend, and they still exceeded my expectations. Thank you!
