Tuffy's Air Conditioning & Heating Service

My husband Bill and I were impressed and appreciative of our service person Angel. He was patient and explained to us what he was doing and why. He tried to first clean and test our machine to evaluate what we needed. We did need a motor replacement, he was fast but thorough. Thank you Angel, and Tuffy for having such a fine employee.

I recently had one of my three-ton air-sourced heat pumps replaced in my home after my existing unit failed. After checking around with other Trane dealers I chose Tuffy’s because I remembered that they got good reviews and had been a stable business for many years. After my first contact, they responded quickly and Steve, the owner, gave me an education on all the new government requirements and incentives. Once I made my decision they had the unit ordered and installed within a couple of days. Coby and Austin, Tuffy’s installers, delivered and installed the unit in the same day and were finished by early afternoon. They were very knowledgeable and politely answered all my questions.

The company is unreliable and extremely unprofessional!!! They replaced a blower motor inthe summer of 2024 for our trane 5 ton air handler with an after market product which works fine. They deducted their service call fee with the installation. In the processI caught one of the techs "Angel" who had an attutude problem with me from the get go, sleeping in the attic. Didn't say a thing to them about it. I called them yesterday Jan. 21st 2026 to see if they could find another after market heater element that needed to be replaced. I gave them all the info they needed to find the part including the model number, serial number, including pictures. They wanted a $115 service call. Unfortunately I am sorry I have to post this review. Tuffy’s AC sent a technician out to diagnose an ac failure to stay running issue. The technician upon diagnosis attempted a bypass in the outdoor unit, discovered a blown fuse, in the indoor unit, and failed to replace the fuse and left a copper wire in place of the fuse, and the system board in the attic shorted out within four hours after the bypass procedure he performed. This left burn marks on the board. This could have caused a potential attic fire. They quoted me around $1000 to replace the part alone. I was able to order one on my own for $140. Not only are they price gouging, but they left the unit in the attic in an unsafe state. I would stay away from this company!

I've been through several AC companies over the years and I've never had a company that had their customer's needs at the forefront like Tuffy's. They take and return calls, they come out promptly, they stick with the problem until it's resolved, they handle warranty issues and do it all with a professional positive attitude. Being in business myself, I admire their skillsets, their communication and commitment. Took a long time to weed through the pretenders but am so happy our quality of life is ensured given how important being comfortable in one's home is for all of us. Thanks, Tuffy's!
