ZERO. BEWARE. I have rented a property in Surf City for the last several years that is extremely poorly managed, which is sad because it's a nice location. When I first moved in, it seemed like an acceptable space in a quite office park. Things took a turn after the tenant next door moved out and a new tenant began converting their unit into a bar. Yep, a bar.. in an office park. The construction was extensive, adding a bathroom, running waterlines, and more. Lot and lots of jackhammering. What they failed to do was install a firewall, which I am told is required, when there is a change of use. The walls are so thin you can hear everything, even the faintest of noises, which is unacceptable for a professional environment. We hear it all. Conversations, martinis shaken, coolers loaded,

My experience with Wellman’s construction has been incredible! We purchased a home that was halfway done in time to make the more important cosmetic changes and choices. Both the foreman and project manager (Mike and Ken) are very fair, very responsive and very polite. They helped us with all of choices making sure it wouldn’t be one we would regret and offered fair prices for the upgrades. They got everything done on time and on budget. The realtor they have in the office (Lori) was very helpful as well with cosmetic choices. She did this out of kindness as she was neither the selling or buying agent. Where they really delivered was how responsive they were AFTER the sale. Mike (the foreman) was at our home multiple times fixing little things that are to be expected during house settling

My experience with Wellman’s construction in the beginning was great, but God forbid anything seriously go wrong with your home. That’s where their true colors show. We recently had a hot water heater issue, something burst filling our kitchen with water. Luckily our renters were home at the time and got it cleaned up in a timely manner. About an hour later we had a plumber with 40 years experience mind you, come survey the scene. Immediately upon arrival he noticed that the valve that is suppose to run the water OUT of your home was actually set up to dump the water INTO our home. Completely going against everything the N.C. home inspection code states. The water leaked down the inside of our walls causing tons of water damage, water was draining through the drywall into the garage below,

Run... I bought a house from Wellmans through Lori Smith Realtor and was over charged on several things and have receipts to prove it. After a year of trying to deal with both not taking my calls, hanging up on me and doing nothing my only recourse is to sue. The only problem with that is it will cost me money for lawyer which will most likely cost me as much as what they overcharged, which is about $3000.00 again I have all receipts and realtor and Wellman are not interested in my problem at all.. My check to them has cleared!

Will clear every single tree on a lot, leaving not a green piece behind. THEN will quickly build a house and plant some non-indigenous plants that will quickly die and bulldoze on to the next lot. Just fantastic.
