Budget Truck Rental @ Valparaiso

I reserved a 16' moving truck on 08/16 for a move scheduled on 08/30—giving them a full two weeks of notice. That should have been more than enough time to guarantee availability. But on 08/27, I received a call from their office while I was at work. The call was silenced and sent to voicemail, yet no voicemail was left, just a missed call from an unknown number. Had I not followed up myself, I would’ve found out far too late that they couldn’t fulfill my reservation. When I called back, I was told it was “unlikely” they’d have a truck available. No apology. No effort to find a solution. Just a suggestion to “book with a competitor.” Moving is already stressful. Update: so it turns out it wasn't your fault however I was going by what I was told by customer service and it took me three customer service agents to figure out what actually was going on. When i went to get my original reservation....they said they had no truck and my reservation meant nothing. They wouldn't help me find one nor did they tell me I had to cancel the reservation or I'd be charged! So I would apologize to you except I won't because the way that you talk to your customers is ridiculous you're a terrible businessman and you provide terrible customer service you're not a good human being and you need to watch the way that you talk to people ! Set up a reservation online & had a confirmation. A few days before my reservation I received a call letting me know the truck wasn’t there. I was at work, they called, I sent it to voicemail. They proceeded to call me two more times immediately back to back. When I answered and asked them why they called me three times like that, he became SO rude. I won’t ever do business with these folks. A voicemail would have sufficed with a call back number. *edit to respond* I sent the first call to voicemail, he called back a second time, I let it go to voicemail. Third call I excused myself from a meeting and was irritated to have the budget truck rental on the other line. My kids have a 3 call emergency rule. Unknown number, three calls, answered it for that purpose.

******READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO RENT HERE****** Just don't ever rent or drop off at this location. They told me that the vichele was not topped off. I got charged 30$ plus $26.89 for the gas, knowing damn well that the truck was full. The guy was extremely rude, and he never called back, yet he charged my card. Please do and treat people better in the future.

So the owner told me I was free to show up and see what happens after he cancelled my rental 10 minutes AFTER closing time today (the day before my move). Guess I'll see you over the weekend buddy 🤣 Bless your heart - hopefully you have a way to back up that mouth. Incase you didn't grasp what the start of this post meant - this location is run by a POS. While many budgets are great, avoid this one like the plague. Who cancels 3+ rentals (as he admitted, not me) AFTER close on a Friday and tries to tell you how much they care 🤦‍♂️.
