Carteret Heating & Cooling

I have only been in my house for about 4.5 months when my heat goes out--right before a cold snap. The house has a geothermal system which is great in some respects but is also a challenge because not every company knows how to deal with the problems. Long story short: Carteret Heating assessed my problem, and then ordered a part. Cue a holiday weekend and a weird part so allow about 2+ weeks for it to arrive. UGH! This company went ABOVE AND BEYOND and brought me two small space heaters to use until the part arrived and they could fix my system. This is not what I expected but what a beautiful and much needed gesture. Cue the part and getting the system running; Of course, part is replaced and it still isn't working. Clarence, the technician who came in response to our call, was terrific. He came two days after our non-emergency call and was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain why the unit we purchased less than a year ago was so noisy, and even came back 2 days later to see if there was anything else he could do to address the issue. Sadly, we are still unhappy with the unit itself, but appreciate Clarence's response.

We have used Carteret Heating and Cooling since we purchased a home on the island in 2020 and their service was always superior. We built a new home in 2025 in Newport and we had a lightning strike and needed parts to fix two floors of units in a three story home and waited over ten days. It was in summer and was extremely hot so much so that our walls sweated and we had to replace Sheetrock, trim, etc. It has now been more than a week since our bottom floor unit went out no fault to us or the weather and we are still waiting on a part. It is December and the feels like temp this morning was 23. You do not plan when you install new units that anytime they break they will be down for more than a week and sometimes closer to two weeks. Its sad because Tim that works in their sales depart

Called Carteret Heating/Cooling to get estimate on replacing a 20yr old split system. They came out the very next day and gave us a quote with 3 options, and explained all of the options in a way a non HVAC person can understand. After choosing an option, I was called 3 days later asking if they could install it that day. The unit was installed by 2 very professional installers in a very orderly, detailed manner. We could not be happier with the service this company provides. I highly recommend them for all of your HVAC needs.

I’d like to thank you for sending Tallas to service our HVAC unit. That gentleman was on time, courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and very approachable! I appreciate the maintenance on HVAC units in both houses and will specifically seek him out again for our next scheduled maintenance.
