Tim Gardner oversaw a project we had done at our home in Cabin John. He was incredibly professional, yet down to earth. He listened to our vision and expectations, and proceeded to go over everything that would be done in order to fulfill our wishes. Then, under his supervision, the work was excellently done. Tim Gardner/Hughes Landscaping has completed multiple projects at my home over the last 10 years, including tree removal, regrading of our lawn, adding drainage, building a stone retaining wall, a stone patio, and a front walkway. The finished product is always excellent. Tim is highly responsive and an awesome project manager, ensuring that all of the work is perfect and done efficiently. After a bit of damage to our walkway by a separate non-Hughes lawn crew, Tim came over immediately to do repairs. I plan to continue using Hughes/Tim for landscaping/stone work and 100% recommend them!

We contracted John and his team to create entirely new hardscaping and landscaping in our small downtown DC backyard. We had a very tight deadline ahead of an event we were hosting. They not only got the project completed a week ahead of schedule, we are also so happy with the end product. The team was incredibly friendly and respectful of our home. Homeowners with healthy grass BEWARE. I had an unfortunate experience with this company. After installing new sod in the front and back of my house, I hired Hughes Landscaping to cut and maintain it. During the course of 1 season, I saw my beautiful grass turn to weeds. After researching and watching, I noticed they were cutting my grass very very short. After many attempts at trying to get someone to come out (maintenance/sales team VERY unresponsive) they finally did and barked that they only cut to 3.5”. I could clearly see that wasn’t true. So, I took photos. After getting up early and running out to stop the crew from balding my lawn, the photos I took clearly show the difference. Grass cut to 1.5” before I stopped them and it barely remaining 2.5” after I stopped them. Where is the 3
