I hired the Ithaca Environmental & Construction Group to remove asbestos found in the basement of a home that my partner and I recently purchased. From the initial inspection to the actual removal, everything was done professionally and efficiently. The two-man crew sent to do the job arrived on schedule and got right to work. They obviously had done this kind of work before and knew exactly what to do. The house is quite old, and, as often happens in old homes, unforeseen issues arose. Asbestos, hidden in the initial inspection, was discovered. Also, a piece of ductwork was found to have seriously deteriorated. In both instances, I was quickly made aware of the issues and the work was able to continue. This company demonstrated that their employees communicate well with each other

The process of getting an estimate to scheduling and completing the work was easy, and the outcome exceeded my expectations. The crew was very motivated and good natured despite working in serious cold weather, very nice to have at my house. Thank you!

Steve did a comprehensive indoor air quality assessment in my new home, including mold testing and data logging in several rooms. He explained things clearly and shared thoughtful suggestions based on the results. I can't recommend these guys enough! They were responsive from the start - answered all. my questions - gave me great referrals. Worrying about mold in your house is not a pleasant experience - but they were reassuring and really knowledgable. With all of the AI voices we have to deal with on the phone, and all the bureaucracy we have to deal with when we have to work with a big company, these guys were SUCH a breath of fresh air! We had a radon mitigation system installed -- they drilled a hole in our basement floor and added a pipe and suction fan. I was not confident that it would be sufficient to lower our radon readings (over 40!) but it was. Readings are now 1.5! I'm so happy I didn't listen to advice from others to empty the entire basement and seal cracks and lay a barrier.
