Originally it was a repair call to fix my 25 year old furnace that had a bad harness. That lead to their being a 30-day lead time for the parts we could not wait it was cold! Talked to the office manager Jennifer and inquired about a new system since our furnace and a/c was old and struggling to keep up. She discussed pricing on a furnace only, and a completely new system, she explained how we could go through the home warranty but would have to follow their rules which would be $2,200 out of pocket, then they order the furnace only, and would be 2-3 weeks for install and 30-day warranty. I have to give five stars - from the first call I realized this business knows what they are doing. They gave me the facts and pricing to help make an educated decision on my new furnace purchase. I was using my home warranty program, so JL Mechanical was assigned to me as their vendor. I had a new furnace installed and JL Mechanical kept me updated with the date of service plus text messages to remind me and give me a link to track my installation team members. They also email you a snapshot of those who will be doing the installation work. Robert was my guy and he was intelligent, patient, friendly, and answered all my questions. I was very satisfied with their professionalism and understanding of our situation. The office staff listened and provided solutions not excuses. We have been very pleased with our unit and our issue with the thermostat was resolved immediately. Our service person, Jared was very professional and efficient. My furnace went out. It has to be replaced. My home warranty company, Home Security of America is a SCAM company. Do not buy a home warranty from this company. It is bait and switch! They tell you your furnace is covered if there is a problem, but first they said I would have to pay $1254 for non- covered costs. The furnace would be replaced with a 30 day warranty on parts and labor. Then, they changed their way and said my out of pocket expenses would be $2000 for the same replacement and warranty. The service company they dispatched to me was JL Mechanical out of Valparaiso. JL Mechanical was more than professional. I had issues with my furnace last night about 11pm. My warranty company assigned JL mechanical heating to assess my furnace. I got a call from them this morning, and Robert, their technician was at my house by 2pm today. He was very thorough and communicated all he had done and very effectively explained what he diagnosed as the problem. I highly recommend this company. 10/10
