They alone tied up my shower project for 4 months. Dave, the salesman and VP of company would not return calls and would only reply through emails. The original order had 2 wrong panels and window trim kit. The 2 wrong panels, the damaged panel and correct window trim kit were reordered. They damaged my property and shower components, by improperly installing the Onyx shower assembly. I had to pay to replace drywall, taping, painting and correctly install shower components. Dave, the salesman came to our home only to get sarcastic with us after questioning the techs skill level and how long it would take to get the correct material. He was asked to leave my home. I am extremely happy with my MK&B experience! This was my first ever major remodel and Robert was great with both the design and project management. As I my project grew beyond a kitchen install and my familiarity with the various design and feature aspects evolved, Robert was the ultimate professional in keeping the project on track and on budget. He quickly and fairly adjusted our initial contract and continued to effectively coordinate efforts with my other contractors and vendors. My highest praise, however, must be recognizing both Robert and Mike (the owner) for 'making right' a mistake (backsplash installation) by one of their contractors. I seldom do reviews. I do this bad review with hopes that others will avoid my misfortune. I ordered ordered cabinets for a new build. 1) The stove hood was not built as per the drawings. I supplied them with the documentation. I was ignored. 2) The panel for the fridge- the color was off they did replace it. It cost me $200 for the trim Carpenter to make the change out. I let thier designer know about my cost and asked about payment. Of course he ignored me 3) The drawings called out for deep drawers. Upon arrival the face of the drawers were deep while the box was shallow. I was told that was the industry standard. Which is BS. I asked for a deep. We had modern perform a major kitchen remodel including removing a non-loadbearing wall. Overall price tag was about $70,000. I will preface by saying that Mike (contractor Mike) and Don are FANTASTIC. They were the 2 Modern employees who were in our house daily and completed most of the work. If we could, we'd have those 2 back in a heartbeat. Their work was done well and they were very punctual and professional. That said, that is where the positives end. We just had a small bathroom remodeled by Modern Kitchens & Baths. We were very pleased with the pricing, the service and the results. The estimator, David patiently worked with us to determine our needs. We had a nice selection of high quality materials. The installers, Bob and Sean were friendly and efficient. They took great care to protect our floors and furniture as they hauled in material for the job. Their workmanship was top-notch. In all, a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend.
