The showroom had lots of excellent choices...much more interesting than those found at big box stores...and many for comparable prices. Mike's integrity was evident when the hardwood manufacturer of my original choice provided production pieces that didn't exactly match the samples. He brought it to my attention and without question, let me select another option. The difference was slight, and he could have gone forward with the installation, but he was sensitive to the nuanced difference and let me make the choice. l He kept me apprised of the delivery timing, and kept to the schedule. He provided all the information I needed, and expertly guided us to make quality decisions on our flooring. We wound up buying three types of flooring, including hardwood and carpeting. After deciding to renovate the majority of our floors all at the same time, we visited Northern Dutchess Hardwoods. We arrived feeling pretty lost and uncertain re: what we wanted, having no experience putting in any new flooring, but we couldn’t have chosen a better place. Mike and Dan were an absolute pleasure to work with. I reached out to Northern Duchess Hardwoods shortly before I closed on a home where we wanted to replace 75% of the floor with hardwoods. It was daunting, as our goal was to have the work done before we moved in, but I was 800 miles away in South Carolina. Mike went above and beyond to make our plans worked. He arranged to visit the home with our real estate agent so he could take measurements. He worked with us over the phone and via email to get us the hardwoods that we wanted. Even though we had a pretty short window for when the work could be done, it was all completed within about a week and a half, allowing us to move in when we had planned to do so. I highly recommend Mike and Northern Dutchess Hardwoods. Both our new hardwood floors (upstairs) and the refinishing of our old hardwood floors (downstairs) look outstanding -- and ours was not an easy job to say the least. From a disastrous incident with a previous contractor -- Mike came in and remedied the situation, resulting in new floors and finishes that surpassed even my husband and my picky standards! We received very personalized attention and appreciated Mike and his teams' passion and attention to detail.
