Downtown Ithaca: Seneca Street Garage

Ithaca Commons is located downtown and serves as a plaza featuring restaurants, shops, and open seating areas along the walkway for people to relax and enjoy. Flower beds are arranged along the path, adding beauty and a pleasant atmosphere. Take a stroll down this pedestrian path, and you’re sure to discover something unexpected.

Just awful. I parked there, and when I tried to get out, the ticket (which I had had for about two hours) didn't work. I then had to figure out which button to push to allegedly summon help, which, of course, never answered. Then I learned why. There was a guy in the booth, maybe three feet away from where I was stopped trying to get out. He was asleep. I tapped on the horn to wake him up -- sorry to disturb your nap, pal, but if you don't wake up I can't get out. He didn't apologize for being asleep, greet me or anything. He simply announced how much I owed, took my credit card, gave it back and I left. A complete, lazy jerk. I hate this garage.

Our hotel directed us to this garage. Our car was broken into while parked on the third floor and several items were stolen. The contact number on the ticket is not in service. There was no attendant onsite that we could talk to in person. Don’t know what the surveillance cameras, if any, capture. Park at your own risk here.

Good parking, never to full, and the elevator down is always working. Great view of downtown at the top.

Just awful! I pay over $100 monthly for a parking permit to park here. Since green street garage has closed. They continued to sell parking permits even though there are no longer enough spaces for the people who already have permits. The roof is consistently the only place to find a spot (if your lucky) and they do not even keep it plowed shoveled or salted so it’s extremely dangerous. On top of everything else the elevators are constantly out of order and when they do work, they are extremely scary and seem like it will break at any moment, which it does all the time and then stays out of order for weeks at a time. If you park anywhere on the first 3 floors they will ticket you, but when SUVs and trucks are parked in the compact spots there are no tickets to be seen, not to mention how e
